Canada joins the growing list of countries that will offer primary school age children the opportunity to build a real pipe organ. OrgelKidsCAN, a project of the RCCO, in conjunction with LeTourneau Organs, will work together to complete the vision of producing 8 travelling kits for use by children in schools, music festivals, science fairs, and museums across the country.

Organ Kids is an educational project for primary school children developed in 2009 by Dutch musician Lydia Vroegindeweij. The “Do-organ” is a self-build mechanical pipe organ with two stops that allows children to discover how a real organ works. The project includes other teaching materials which includes a lesson letter, a powerpoint presentation, an e-book, an instruction video and a poster.

Interested schools and school teachers are encouraged to email the RCCO Niagara Centre for more information or call the RCCO National headquarters at 416-929-6400.
